We are the Castle Bromwich Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Our walk begins with about half a mile along the towpath of the Grand Union Canal, passing some of the 21 locks that make up Hatton’s famed ‘stairway to heaven’. After crossing the canal and the railway, we make our way through the walker-friendly Hatton Estate along a series of permissive paths and public footpaths through attractive agricultural land. Our lunch break will be at Hatton Shopping Village where food and drink will be available to purchase. After lunch we return to the canal for a futher half a mile, heading towards Hatton Station. Then we cross the canal and head north towards Hatton Green and Holy Trinity Church before returning to the cars. There are just a few stiles and some short sections of road walking where care will be needed.
