Overview

A walk through the low hills of mid Deeside on good tracks. Walking is on forestry tracks with easy-angled ascents suitable for most abilities, through some open moorland, in woods and also along the river.

We will leave the car park, cross the river, past St Lesmo's Chapel and join the old Firmounth Road, leaving it to head east on the south side of Baudy Meg.  The track slowly climbs up round to the east side of Baudy Meg.  On the north side of the hill, we continue northwards, then turn west back to Glen Tanar following the river upstream for the last few miles.  There are many good views during the walk.

The walk will take about 5 hours plus and there will be several stops for lunch, e.t.c.
