We head into the grounds of Finzean House and Calurg Wood ascending steeply through the forest on to open moorland beyond to reach the summit of Tom’s Cairn, which affords fine views of the surrounding countryside.
Walking mostly on Estate roads and forest paths. Can be muddy in places. There is one section of walking alongside a quiet estate road, and two crossings of the sometimes busy B976 road.
A Moderate walk for people with country walking experience and a good level of fitness. The walk includes some hills, steep paths, and open country with no paths and may be at a brisk pace.
