From Hayfield to Coldwell Clough, then climbing up Dimpus Clough to the foot of South Head, and skirting village of Wash, back to Hayfield. Risk assessment: A steep climb up Dimpus Clough. If wet, stream towards the end of the walk can be very boggy. Some stiles and some livestock.
Note: due to possible road closure at Birch Vale, suggest from A6 take turnoff for Chapel en le Frith, then A624 to Hayfield, to avoid Birch Vale.

Valley Road, Hayfield (far end away from Hayfield after houses). This is a residential road, please park considerately. There is the possibility of a road closure on the New Mills Road (A6015) at Birch Vale to Hayfield on Thursday 6 July, so the best alternative is to stay on the A6, and take the first turn off to Chapel en le Frith, then take the A624 to Hayfield. Please allow approx 15 minutes more to get there. Ignore any satnav directions via New Mills/Birch Vale
