We are the York Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The walk starts at Hazelwood Castle Hotel and then onto Aberford and the long track along the disused railway (passing Nellie's tree)to Garforth golf club. We cross the golf club to join the Leeds Country Way which leads to Barwick in Elmet. The walk is muddy in places so walking poles and gaiters are recommended and no dogs please.

Catch the Coastliner bus no 843 from opp railway station, stop RJ, at 9.00am to arr at Hazelwood Castle Hotel at 9.38.
From Barwick in Elmet catch the no64 bus to Leeds at either 20mins and 50mins past the hour from opp Gascoigne Arms on Main St. The bus stops near John Lewis in Leeds and then it is a 5 min walk to bus station to catch the Coastliner back to York at 15mins or 45mins past the hour.
