Overview

The Hole of Horcum without the hole. From the car park we head off towards the railway and descend to Newton Dale Halt. We work our way back up to Needle Point and head along Killing Nab Scar. Forest tracks take us to Waterpale Slack where descend to ascend through Yorfall woods and head to Skelton Tower. Then it’s back to the cars by Dundale pond and Levisham moor. 10.9 miles and 1500ft of ascent as measured by the OS maps app. Possibly some bracken beating on the early part. The distance may shorten depending on whether tree damage is cleared. NB A car park fee of £6 to encourage car sharing where possible!
