Overview

It is a good winter walk in that most of the surfaces (except for the first half mile) are either tarmac or canal towpath.  The walk is 5.5 miles and apart from an ascent at the start from the bottom of Healey Rd into Ossett it is level or downhill.  We will have a break after about 3 miles for lunch.  There are no loos on the walk but there are opportunities.

People need good boots however as the railway underpass can have standing water in it.
