Longer description: We’ll follow the river up past Midgehole, heading in the direction of Hardcastle Crags before going to visit the Lumb Hole Waterfall. We’ll then continue across fields and open moorland towards Oxenhope and take in some of the “Railway Children Walk” before we head into Haworth itself. We’ll then return to Hebden on the bus. The capped fare is £2 and they usually accept cards.
The tracks are good on the whole but may be muddy so please wear good shoes or boots. There are some steep sections in places.
Please note, the buses only run once an hour on Sundays. There are plenty of places to visit in Haworth if you want to spend some more time there, including the steam railway and the Parsonage Museum or you could join us for a drink in the pub conveniently situated next to the bus stop.
If travelling to Hebden Bridge via Burnley / Todmorden, please stay on the A646 route along the valley floor - some sat navs will try and take you on to the top minor road which means a steep and narrow descent into Hebden Bridge.
Ramblers members please remember to show your membership card or Phone Ap. (Otherwise, if not a Ramblers member please book a place via Hike on Lancashire on Meetup - suggested donation of £2)
