Overview

This walk offers far reaching views from the chalk downland, visits the Roman road and Wansdyke and the springs at the source of the River Marden.  The walk starts from Heddington and ascends to Small Grains then on to Calstone Wellington.  It returns via Morgans’s Hill, across the golf course and passes King’s Play Hill back to Heddington.

There is a moderate incline up from Heddington and a steep incline up to Morgan’s Hill from Calstone.  One or two stiles.

There may be livestock enroute and sticks may be useful as it may be muddy.  Chalk, in particular, can be slippery when wet.  Bring refreshments for one stop.  We will be back for lunch
