BUS walk.Starting from Henfield. Lovely downland views as we head west then south following the Downslink and the Adur valley . Picnic snack in Woods Mill NR, then a steep ascent of the South Downs escarpment followed by and easier traverse using the South Downs Way to finish at the Devil's Dyke. Bring picnic and plenty of water- no refreshments till end.

This is a 9 or 12 Mile walk.
Brighton Old Steine, Bus stop D Meet at 9:15 to catch the 9:20 Stagecoach 17 bus . Single fare £3.
Henfield by main bus stop next to Post House Cafe . Leader will be coming by 17 bus (arrives 10:00). Considerate parking may be possible in nearby side roads.
Devil's Dyke Hotel. 77 bus to station and Old Steine from here but parking limited. Option to extend walk ( 3 miles extra)to Dyke road Hilltop Cafe (additional buses and parking) depending on weather and niumbers!
