Overview

A circular walk in a remote area just N of Pumlumon. From the start point near Maesnant at the NE end of Nantymoch reservoir the rough track descends to the NE to cross the Afon Hengwm over a footbridge. Travelling up the Hengwm valley on a dampish & vague at times path then track Llyn Bugeilyn is reached. The route then proceeds to the NW to pass Llyn Cwmbyr  & ascends to its highest point about 530 metres about a mile from the forestry plantation of Esgair Ffordd. Then follows a mile & a half descent through forestry to reach a track junction where we go S ascending then descending into the Hyddgen valley to complete the circle on the footbridge over the Afon Hengwm. A final ascent ascent for a mile brings us back to the cars.
