Join us for a chance to explore the picturesque Swiss Valley with its historic reservoirs, and well marked trails. It's a perfect mix of heritage and nature.
We will be following the pretty reservoir footpaths through woods teaming with wildlife and spring blooms, to pick up a short section of St Illtyd's Walk long distance path. This takes us up and out of the valley, across open countryside and farms before descending into the village of Furnace. Here we will be visiting the historic house and gardens of Parc Howard where we can take advantage of facilities and refreshments before returning to the valley a final time to join the disused railway path back to the reservoir and car park.
The walk is mainly on dry and level paths. There is a short steep climb out of the valley along a quiet road and a steep descent onto the path into Furness. There are steps up through Parc Howard towards the main house. There are no stiles.
