Overview

Starting at Sherberton, this walk takes us via the Dartmoor Way to Hexworthy Bridge before a slight ascent towards Huccaby Farm.   We then follow a track across the moor to Bellever Tor heading down towards the Gunpowder Mills  (established 1844),  before before walking towards  a gate leading to a bridle path with a gradual climb  to a wall which gives an amazing panoramic view of the area taking in the Gunpowder mills and several Tors, including Hay Tor.   Walking along the wall down we will head down towards Cherrybrook Hotel, where we cross the road and continue on our walk across Muddilake.  The walk takes us down towards the Prince Hall Hotel  following the bridle path towards the South Dartmoor Training Centre before continuing across the bridge (West Dart River) and back over the moor to Hexworthy on the Dartmoor Way.
