Overview

A moderate walk with 700ft of climb. The pace will be gentle, especially on the uphill climb.

We will walk along Big Pond and then slowly uphill to Shell top. From there it is mainly downhill: on the Penn Beacon and then down to follow the Dartmoor way (which is level) back to the car park.

If the weather is kind to us there will be spectacular 360 degree views at the top.

There will be an option for some people to extend the walk to 7 miles and explore some stone rows below Great Trowlesworthy
