Overview

A lovely walk starting from the village of Heytesbury, first crossing the A36 heading up towards Cotley Hill then heading eastwards further into the countryside following the old Imber Road up to East Hill farm. Joining the Imber perimeter path up onto the edge of the training areas using good paths with great all-round views, there are various earthworks including Knook 'castle' settlement to be seen. We descend back down the hillside to cross the busy B390 road and head back up hill to overlook the village of Knook. Then descending to cross the very busy main road A36. We head through the Knook village and cross fields using the Wessex Ridgeway path alongside the river Wylye to finish back at Heytesbury using quiet country footpaths to arrive at our parking site.
