Starting from St Katherine's church in Holt, we head out of the village past the 'Glove Factory' premises through several fields onto the hamlet of Great Chalfield where there is a lovely National Trust manor house and gardens property which is well worth a future visit. From there we head across several more fields to the village of Broughton Gifford, crossing the large open village 'common' and down to the local church. We continue back across more fields retracing some of our steps towards the edge of Holt. From here we walk back through the village noting some places of interest, and back to our starting point St Katherine's church which is very close to another NT property called 'The Courts', again worth a visit with pleasant gardens and facilities at the finish of the walk, alternatively visit the 'Glove Factory' for refreshments. The walk is mainly in the open countryside, with generally flat landscapes over several fields plus some quiet lanes.
This walk is generally flat being well marked, following rain will be muddy in places as crossing several fields.
Bring light refreshments and drink.
Opportunity to visit the NT property called 'The Courts' in Holt at the end of the walk (bring NT passes)
