Our walk will take us over some of the attractive countryside that edges the valley of the River Rib.
We walk from High Cross to the River Rib, and then up the river to Timber Hall. We then proceed on to Baker's End. Our return to High Cross being via Sawtrees Farm and Barwick Ford.
Most of the walk is on good paths and tracks. However, it is likely to be muddy on the short section along the Rib and maybe in Sawtrees Wood. There are two field crossings, but the fields are well drained and do not normally present a problem. Boots are recommended wear.
For those seeking refreshments after the walk the nearest Pub is in Wadesmill.
Park and meet in High Cross Church carpark. The park is behind the Church and is approached from North Drive.
