From start we ascend onto the High Weald with views of the Medway valley. We then drop down and pass close by Penshurst Place and into the village of Penshurst. We cross the river Eden and ascend back onto the Weald. We then gradually descend to Chiddingstone village (possible pub, café if pub not available, or picnic). After lunch we descend to, and again cross, the river Eden, and thence to Penshurst railway station.Buy an OPDR ticket to Leigh (Kent), cost from E Croydon approx £9.94.
