Overview

The next in the Mill series starts with an opportunity to visit Pann Mill in High Wycombe at 10.45. The walk then starts across the road at 11.15, quickly finding a quieter route through the town to Hughenden park before rising to the Naphill woods and the ridge, before dropping down into the valley and Saunderton Railway Station. A lunch stop will be provided (bring sandwiches) and water stops, but Jane won't be stopping to eat bananas.

The afternoon trains (£4 single, or 33% off if GroupSave or discount cards) are at 57minutes past the hour, so any waiting time can be taken up in the Golden Cross Pub before return by train to High Wycombe Station and the short walk to the Railway Place car park.  The pace will be moderate, one path is a little overgrown, there are a couple of moderately steep hills, and young cattle (exceptionally well behaved during the recce) may be encountered in one field.
