A mix of woods, fields and heathland on Stoke Common. There is a short stretch on an enclosed path near houses. Towards the end there are several stiles, some a little rickety but do-able. We start from the village of Hedgerley with it’s village pond and interesting mix of old houses. We head south, through Hanging Wood and along the edge of Hedgerley Park. We skirt the reservoir in Stoke wood and then along the edge of Brockhurst wood before heading into Stoke Common, a designated area of special scientific interest. We will have a lunch stop here where there are a few benches.
We then turn northwards and then westwards along the Pickeridge and Pickeridge wood and the edges of a cemetary, before re-joining our outward path. We pass through the church yard on our way back and emerge near the White Horse PH.
