Overview

A 10 mile circular walk from Danbury, one of the highest points in Essex. This takes us through  an estate landscaped by Capability Brown's successor, beautiful country parks and wooded dales, with spectacular views over the Essex countryside.  We walk to the River Chelmer, stopping at the mid point for lunch at Paper Mill Lock.  Please bring a picnic or you can buy food at the tea shop by the lock. In the afternoon we make our way back to Danbury, with its church on the footprint of an Iron Age Camp.

This is a very hilly walk and is not for the faint hearted!!
