We are the South Shropshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From Aston we will cross fields taking a fairly gentle climb up to Hopesay Common. We will then walk along the ridge, with excellent views on a clear day. A stretch of road walking will give us access to different ridge to walk down to Hopesay village. We will then join the Shropshire Way for a short while before taking a track up to Burrow Fort returning to Aston across the fields.
This walk is likely to still be muddy in places, so suitable footwear advised, and walking poles if you use them
Aston on Clun Village Hall. There is a cash box to contribute to the maintenance of the car park, please contribute if you are able to. The village shop will be open at the start of the walk so please park considerately.
