From Sudbury Town (Piccadilly Line), our walk today is a mixture of woodlands, meadows and pastures, canal and meandering river paths plus the occasional road.
We start with views across West London before descending to the Brent riverside and its surrounding parks and wildlife spaces. While the climb up Horsenden Hill is gradual, coming down is steeper in places and a pole may be useful. The rest of the route is fairly flat and on well marked paths.
Along the way there will be time to stop for a break, and have a picnic lunch before we pass the first of two amazing structures built by Brunel and emerge out onto the Grand Union Canal.
A glorious flight of locks take us up towards our final destination, where we can admire a rare Tudor Manor House before reaching Southall Station (Elizabeth Line), the end of our walk.
Toilets are available at:
Sudbury Town Station, Pear Tree Park, Hanwell Zoo, Southall Station
