We have not parked up here for a number of years, and our return is long overdue. Just on the edge of Bowland our walks today may take you up onto the fells, or along the river.
There will be three walks available, with details circulated on the coach. They will range from easy to strenuous depending on the walk sellected.
A Walk Leader - Clare Vattev - A circular walk from Hurst Green walking past the collage to Longridge Fell. Going around the base to the north side of the fell before heading up the fell to Walker Fold. An easy walk to the trig point on Spire Hill. Down to Holly Hall, through Hud Lee Wood before turning east and joining the Ribble Valley Jubilee Trail back to Hurst Green.
B Walk Leader - Janet Loines - A circular walk from Hurst Green of just under 9 miles and 928ft of ascent. Going through the grounds of Stonyhurst Collage before crossing the golf course and continuing through woodland and open countryside before returning to Hurst Green along the River Ribble.
C Walk Leader - Christine Vasey and Carol Gummerson - 7 miles with a bit of up & down. Going past Stonyhurt School and heading for the River Hodder. Past Cromwell Bridge and join the footpath alongside the River Ribble. Then through woods to arrive back at Hurst Green and finish at Milly's Tea Shop or the Shireburn Arms - the choice is yours.
