We are the Forth Valley Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Our summer of evening walks ends in Cambus with this simple and satisfying circuit kindly shared with us by Shona. The easiest of our three twilight sorties, this is also one of the loveliest featuring as it does woodland tracks, wide open spaces and a return section along the River Forth as it broadens out around South Alloa. Expect spectacular views if we are once again blessed with the weather. Pack a mac if not.
One word of caution, on the evening of the recce we were forced to navigate a number of cows with their calves which had broken away from their herd in the field adjoining the footpath. It wasn’t a problem, but we will re-check this situation a few days before the walk and advise accordingly.
Roadside parking on Devon Place and nearby (popular with dog walkers, so please do consider car sharing).
