This is a circular walk of approx 12 miles. We head south with a mostly, gradual ascent up to the Wayfarers Walk at Walbury Hill, getting most of the “up” out of the way early on. We turn west along the Wayfarers to Comb Gibbet where we stop for coffee, hopefully, with splendid views to both the north and south. We descend Inkpen Hill, which is quite steep in places, so care will be required. Continuing north, north east we join the Kennet & Avon canal at Kintbury, stopping for lunch at Kintbury lock. We continue along the tow path before crossing the canal to head south, south west eventually crossing Inkpen Common and back to the start.
There are six stiles and several gates all in reasonably good order. The going underfoot is varied and should be reasonably good throughout. The descent of Inkpen Hill could be slippery and the route into Kintbury could still be wet underfoot despite the recent warmer weather.
Please bring sufficient food and drink for the day, which will include both coffee and lunch stops
This walk is limited to 16, so please use the link to book your place, before 6.00pm on Wednesday 25th March.
