Overview

Interesting walk starting from Rooks Nest CP which is off Barkham Ride. We walk by the edge of California Country Park and up through Warren Wood to a Bronze Age Bell Burrow. Then up to St James Church and on to Finchampstead. Returning across open farmland and back to California Country Park, skirting the lake we walk across the old Speed Way track into Longmoor Bog. Here we walk along a raised board walk crossing a rusty coloured bog iron terrain after which we return back to the other side of the lake and back to the car park.
