A moderate-plus walk starting by the reservoir, then along quiet lanes, tracks, fields and farmland to Kettleshulme. 500m along road before ascending to Taxal Edge. Follow the ridge south along to Shining Tor where we descend back to reservoir. Risk assessment: Approx. 500m section on a road with no footpath. Route passes through a farm – may be animals. Possible shortcut back to cars from Pym chair if weather is poor.

Hooleyhey Lane, 100m north of Lamaload reservoir car park. Car park may also be open but sometimes reserved for angling club.
