The coach leaves Chorlton Street at 8.50 am prompt, picking up in Sedgley Park at 09.10 and Prestwich at 09.15. Toilet stop at Lancaster Services (NB: Timings for pick-up points are approximate - please be at the pick-up point in good time)
Three led walks:
Short. Leader Geoff. Kirkby Stephen circular.
Kirkby Hill, river path to Nateby, Wharton Hall, Halfpenny House, Intake Bottom Farm and Habers.
Distance 6 miles.
Medium. Leader Ian. Linear walk.
Ravenstonedale on the A685, village centre, then to Smardale Bridge, through Smarsdale Gill nature reserve, Waitby, Beckfoot and into Kirkby Stephen.
Distance 8.5 miles and 709 feet ascent.
Long. Leader Simon. Linear walk.
Starting from Kirkby Stephen station on A685 via Wharton Hall, Pendragon Castle, Carr House, Nateby, Lockthwaite, Bollam Bridge, Kirkby Stephen.
Distance 11 miles. Total ascent 1200 ft, highest point 1012 ft.
Although this is relatively undemanding for a long walk there are several awkward stiles and some tricky terrain through overgrown vegetation. Enough undulation to allow for some good distant views.
The coach will leave Kirkby Stephen at 6.00 p.m.
The ground may be muddy so please wear suitable footwear. Please bring a change of shoes, boot covers or something to clean your boots before getting back on the coach.
