An interesting walk that commences with a stroll along Larg's main promenade before following Noddsdale Water upstream through countryside north of Largs. The route follows the Ayrshire Coastal Path which gradually ascends the lower slopes of the hill offering some fine views. The final climb to the summit is steep but on reaching the trig point the panorama includes the Cumbraes, Arran and Bute and the wide sweep of the Firth of Clyde. The descent follows the Blackhouse Burn through a wooded glen and then a minor road leads back to Largs.
If you are coming on the walk please text walk leader (07906068642) by 7pm Friday 26th September to confirm. Please also confirm if you are meeting at Clarkston Hall to travel by car or if you intend to travel by train. It would also be helpful if you could include your emergency contact number in your text.

The off road paths are boggy and very muddy in parts. Boots and waterproof outer clothing are essential and gaiters and walking poles recommended for those who use them. There are some fallen trees to navigate on the descent but the route is passable with care.
There are toilets in Largs at the starting point of the walk beside the ferry slipway.
Tea, coffee and ice cream following the walk in Largs.
