Overview

The originally posted short walk for Sat 24th Jan 2026 - Balsall Common to Barston circular - is flooded and impassible in two places - so even re-routing onto lanes was scuppered.  (Consider me wringing out wet paws.)

Instead I will offer a repeat / variation on the Knowle circular offered Christmas week.  Lanes, towpath, a field or two if passable.  It will be short as places are pretty wet.
Basically - from Knowle, up to Berry Lane, a loop round and back again, taking the canal path one way and the lanes 'the other way'.

Will still be a muddy walk.  One low stile at the start.

Park in Queen Eleanors Drive OR Minster Close off Jacobean Lane

BUT ... please spread your cars out on both suggested places to leave passing places for locals, and consider car sharing to cut the number of parked cars a tad.

There is actually plenty of space on Queen Eleanor's Drive - BUT resist the urge to all park at the Jacobean Lane end.  Ta.

Alternatively, if you are fit as a fiddle, park in Lady Byron Lane and walk down to Jacobean Lane. It's about an extra 500m each way.
