We are the Isle of Wight Ramblers. We arrange walks, monitor paths and help our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This will be a moderate, undulating walk. There are just three stiles and some mud and woodlands. There is a short distance of road walking on Skinners Lane. We recommend that you bring some refreshments to sustain yourself on the way. Please note that there are no public toilets.
Travel
There is street parking on Lake Green Road PO36 9HJ, Fairview Crescent or Roseway. There is no parking on Lake Common unmade up road. Car sharing would be appreciated as spaces could be limited. Buses 2, 3 and 8 stop at the top of Lake Green Road by the Tesco Express; then you would walk along the road and stop at the bridge on the common.
New walkers welcome. If you are new to the Ramblers you can just turn up for any of our walks, unless we specify otherwise. We invite you to come along for three walks as a non-member.
Additional Notes
Depending on the weather, consider suitable, clothing, footwear, walking poles, sun cream, drinks, and food. Watch out for ticks and remove ASAP. If you are unsure about your ability to undertake this walk, please contact the walks leader. If you need to leave the walking group, please ensure you inform the leader or back marker.
