Overview

The 5.5-mile morning route follows the Stratford-on-Avon canal towpath going west through a series of locks before branching off to Lapworth village. From there the route turns north-west to Packwood House, before going east to the Grand Union canal. It then turns south to return to the Navigation Inn. The afternoon is a 3-mile circular walk via Baddesley Clinton and Rowington Green, before rejoining the Grand Union canal to return to The Navigation Inn.

Our Wednesday walks include a lunchtime pub stop. Requirements for meals from the pub menu are usually requested and ordered before the start of the walk by the leader. Walkers who prefer to take a picnic lunch are welcome to do so and the leader will have a place designated for this somewhere near the pub, in the village, or in the area where we are stopping for lunch. JOINING INSTRUCTIONS: This is a figure of eight route from the Navigation Inn, Old Warwick Road, Lapworth, B94 6NA. By Public transport: Meet at Moor Street Station at 9.45 am to catch the 9.55 am train to Lapworth, arriving at 10.23 am. The walk leader will meet the train passengers and walk with them to the Navigation Inn, 10mins. The off-peak return fare is £8.30. For West Midlands bus pass holders you need a train ticket from Dorridge to Lapworth, £2.50 off peak return. Return trains are 27 or 23 minutes past the hour. By car: Meet at the Navigation Inn, Old Warwick Road, B94 6NA, ready to start the walk 10.40 am.
