Overview

A WALK DESCRIPTION: From the layby, the route follows the Macmillan Way to Yarnworth, then follows minor roads, South, to pick up the Monarchs Way, which is followed at foot of Chedworth Woods, to the Roman villa. The path climbs through Chedworth Woods, still following the Monarch Way, giving good views down to the village of Chedworth, then heads SE and descends, having left the Monarchs Way, to Lower Chedworth. The route then follows Hedgley Bottom to Fosse Bridge, where the pub is. Then follow field paths, generally North, to a minor road at Stowell, where the Monarchs Way is rejoined. The route then follows the Monarchs Way to Oxens Farm, and then towards the village of Hampnett. Before reaching the village, the route takes a lower path towards Mile End, and then a higher path to the church at Hampnett. From Hampnett, follow field paths back to the finish. Distance 11.50 miles, Ascent 1215 feet.
