Due to West Dean’s river being used to take water away from the village and a lot of localised flooding in the area the start point and walk has been altered. The walk will now start at Lavant and the walk changed as follows
Please park in Sheepwash Lane, Lavant. We will head through East Lavant and north on Chalkpit Lane (long, steady incline) to St Roche’s Hill. Then Monarchs Way to West Dean and Singleton Station. Then turn south on new Centurion Way (the old railway) back to mid Lavant.
The route has one ascent (St Roche’s Hill) and a descent to West Dean. The second part of the walk is flat.
There will be coffee and lunch stops so please bring your own refreshments, mid morning snack/drink and packed lunch.
