A beautiful walk across downs, woodland and open country. Taking the Milky Way out of Buriton, we will head towards (but not up) Harting Down, looping south to Hucksholt Farm and then west towards Chalton. From Chalton, we will take the Staunton Way to Head Down and back to Buriton.
No stiles; some hills but nothing excessive; if we go on the Sussex Border Path, there has been extensive forestry work and the ground is muddy and very uneven. Please make sure your boots have good tread and support, and poles would be helpful.
Open air coffee and lunch stops, please bring your own refreshments.
Note: Please note the start time and arrive in good time for a prompt departure at 09.30.
I will be asking everyone to ensure that they have completed ICE cards with them and will have ICE cards to hand out for completion if you do not.
There is a car park outside St Mary's Church next to the Village Pond; alternatively, there is parking around the village (please park considerately).
