Walking in South East Hampshire
We are a welcoming and friendly group that provides nearly 300 walks each year in the beautiful countryside of South East Hampshire and West Sussex, including the South Downs National Park. Many walks are in the areas of Stansted Park, the Meon Valley, the Mardens, Petersfield, Midhurst, Arundel etc. and the lovely rivers and villages in between.
Our routes include coastal, woodland, heath and downland walks, with great views of the spectacular countryside and delightful settlements in our area. We regularly use paths such as the South Downs Way, the Monarch’s Way, the Wayfarer’s Way, the Serpent Trail and several more. We cater for a wide range of walking abilities, from leisurely walks to more strenuous hikes.
We have a number of social events, and usually a coach trip each year.
Our walks programme
Our walks programme offers:
a short leisurely (4-6 mile) fairly local walk each Saturday morning
two walks each Sunday - a shorter (5-9 mile) walk, and a longer (9-13) mile walk
a 10-12 mile walk every Wednesday
a 14-15 mile walk on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, usually at a faster pace
a 6-7 mile walk each Thursday
from mid-May to mid-August, a 4-6 mile evening walk on Tuesdays, usually starting at 7pm.
We would welcome you to come along to join us for up to three walks before becoming a member of the Ramblers. You can just turn up – no need to book.
As a Ramblers member you can walk with any group in the country.
