Overview

A linear walk to Bishopstone Station. A long, invigorating walk with panoramic views of Lewes, the South Downs and Weald, ending at the sea with bathing possibilities. The walk can be shortened by returning by train or on foot to Lewes from Southease, perhaps after visiting Virginia and Leonard Wolfs' house in Rodmell (NT). From Lewes Station we walk through historic parts of the town to join a ridge walk on the South Downs Way from which we descend to Rodmell for the lunch stop at 'The Abergavenny Arms' pub but bring a picnic. After lunch River Ouse, Southease (Station) and back on the South Downs Way, America Farm, Poverty Botton, Norton, Bishopstone Station. Map: E122/123, L198.
