This circular rural walk starts from the recently-refurbished pub The Plough at Ley Green in the parish of Kings Walden.
There are some quite steep descents and ascents on either side of the scenic Lilley Bottom. We will pass through the hamlets of Darleyhall and Wandon End before reaching the attractive village green at Cockernhoe. The rural nature of the walk belies the fact that it is so close to the conurbation of Luton.
During the second half the walk, we will see hardly any houses until near to the end as we re-enter Ley Green and the potential for a drink at The Plough.
There is no need to pre-book or contact the leader in advance. If you are already a Ramblers member, please just bring your Ramblers card (or membership details on the app) to help speed up the Ramblers register before we start the walk. Due to harvesting and livestock, alterations may have to be made to the walk on the day. Dogs will have to be on a lead when approaching livestock.
