We are the Balerno Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Driving to Main Street East Wemyss – taking bus to Lower Largo to start walk.
Walk is via Lundin Links, Leven, Methil, and Buckhaven. Will pass the Wemyss caves at the end but will not be taking a tour of them on this walk. There is a bit of road walking through Leven, Methil and Buckhaven, though the streets we will use are quiet and have some points of interest.
We will be passing caves and you may wish to bring a torch to see more of the interiors.
Walking poles may be useful as parts of the coastal path may be slippy after the storms.
Bring money or pass for the bus.

Meet at Pentland View car park off Lanark Road West 8:20 ready to leave in sharing cars by 08:30. We will drive from Currie to East Wemyss, then get the bus to lower largo to start the walk
Everyone will meet at East Wemyss and take the bus to Lower Largo to start the walk. - Driving Directions from Pentland View Carpark, Currie. NOTE we will leave carpark at 8:30am sharp Take the M8 and follow signs for the Forth Road Bridge – leave motorway at J2A signed for Kirkcaldy, on to A92. At the east end of Kirkcaldy at Redhouse roundabout, take third exit off A92 on to A921, marked for Leven, then at Gallatown roundabout take the first exit on to A915. At next roundabout take the 1st exit still on A915. At the Wemyss Estate turn right onto Checkbar Road that links the A915 to the A955 (signed for Coaltown of Wemyss). Then follow A955 to East Wemyss. In East Wemyss, from the A955 (High Road) (before you get to the small park) turn down East Brae, then bend right to Weavers Court, which is off Main Steet. It is at the dead end at the east end of the village, where there is a bit of additional parking. That is where the group will meet, if you end up parking elsewhere in the village. What Three Words is “spare.apply.laughs” The postcode is KY1 4SF. Please note that we aim to catch the X60 at 9.48 from the A955, so we need a few minutes to walk up.
