Overview

Area Sunday Strenuous Walk - Distance over 10 miles

Linear Walk                       No Booking Required

Distance - 12 miles

This walk uses the GM Ringway (stage 11) and includes a variety of countryside including panoramic hill views, woodland, open moors, reservoirs and a dramatic railway viaduct. There is over 2,000 ft of ascent and a fair amount of rough, hard surfaces and walkers will need to be able to maintain a steady pace in these conditions for around six hours, rewarded by seeing some areas around Greater Manchester that are not commonly visited on our walks.

Meeting Place and Time - 9.54 train Victoria Station

Note - It is advisable to check on the website https://www.thetrainline.com or Transport for Greater Manchester (tfgm.com) for the departure time of the train as last minute changes might occur.

Walk Starting time - Littleborough station after the arrival of the train from Victoria Station due 10.11

Note - Return journey from Norden by bus to Rochdale for tram/train/bus

Car Parking - available at Littleborough Station but you would need a bus and a train journey to get back there at the end of the walk.

Walk Route - Littleborough, Ratcliffe Hill, Watergrove Reservoir, Man Stone Edge, Healey Dell, Broadley Fold, Greenbooth Reservoir, Norden
