A scenic walk from Longshaw NT estate, across Hathersage Moor, Carl Mark Fort & Higger Tor (with a small amount of scrambling. Then some road walking to Sheepwash Bank followed by a gentle climb onto Stanage Edge along to Upper Burbage Bridge and then back to the start. With spectacular views over Hathersage and the Derwent Valley
The group does not stop at cafes or pubs for lunch, and you should bring enough food and drinks with you to last the whole walk. We usually stop for a coffee break an hour or so into the walk, and stop for packed lunch around 1230-1300 although weather and a suitable location will affect both timings.
The walk leader has assessed this walk for the following risks, but during the walk others may become evident. You will come across, stiles, gates and other path furniture, hedges etc. You will cross moor land and will need to do a small amount of scrambling. You may come across road crossings, fields with crops, muddy/slippery sections, farm livestock & warning signs. You should remain stay alert and take individual responsibility
