Overview

On this stroll we use the Colne Valley Circular Walk on the north ridge eastwards to Wham and Upper Holme to descend via Owlers Wood over the Huddersfield Narrow Canal / River Colne and up to the southern ridge. South-west via the old Meltham quarries and the Piper Stones back to cars. Risk assessment:  Slippery, muddy sections after rain.  Minor possibility of vertigo on the return path below Black Edge. Three stiles in poor condition may present an inconvenience to some.
