We are the Bromley Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A local walk from the Green at Green St. Green over familiar paths and a couple of quiet roads to Knockholt Pound (about half way on the walk) for a picnic lunch or lunch in the Three Horseshoes pub.
I'm still trying to recreate the walk I led on 30 January 2019, when the whole morning was covered in virgin snow and the sky was a cloudless blue (it probably will never happen).
Return via different paths to the start.
If you would like to bring a dog please telephone me first. There will probably be sheep somewhere on the walk when dogs must be on a lead.
There is an infrequent bus that stops at the Pound. For those who would like a shorter walk that bus will take you back to the start.
Parking is available at the north end of Shire Lane, only accessible from Sevenoaks Road (A223), opposite Old Warren Road. This is on the east side of the A21. Or park with consideration in nearby residential roads. Alternatively there are a number of buses, including the 358, which service the Green.
