Overview

We begin our journey at the Nature Reserve on Sheep Way, close to the Railway bridge. From this starting point, we proceed towards Wharf Lane, following a well-defined track path.

Upon reaching Wharf Lane, we continue along the road until it joins a track. We follow this track almost as far as the Marina. However, before reaching the Marina itself, we take a turn and follow the rhine in the direction of Harbour Road.

Next, we head towards the Marina and walk along its edge, making our way back towards the lock gates. Along this stretch, we pause for a coffee stop at Hall & Woodhouse, providing an opportunity to rest and refresh.

After the break, we begin our return journey, retracing part of the route we have already covered. We then leave the track for a short distance, follow the road briefly, and re-enter the Nature Reserve from the opposite side. The walk concludes as we follow the reserve's path back to our original starting point.

The terrain along this route can be puddly and muddy in places, especially after rain. One particular section is prone to flooding during heavy rainfall. For these reasons, sturdy boots are recommended.
