Overview

This walk provides an excellent opportunity to enjoy panoramic views across the Quantocks and the River Severn.  Walkers will experience a diverse landscape, traversing both open moorland and tranquil woodland areas.

The Journey begins at the Dead Woman's Ditch Car Park.  From the starting point, head towards the Macmillan Way West, proceeding in the direction of Halsway Post.  Continue onwards to Bicknoller Post, at which point we will leave the Macmillan Way West behind.  After departing from Bicknoller Post , join Greenway Path and start a gradual descent towards Higher Ground.  At this stage we pick up on the Coleridge Way, which we follow towards the village of Holford.

From Holford, the route involves an initial steady climb up through Holford Combe, followed by a steeper ascent to Frogs Hill.  After reaching Frogs Hill the path leads back to the original starting point.

The Terrain along this route is varied, comprising stretches of moorland, wooded areas, stony paths, tracks and very little road.  Walkers should also be prepared to cross a few streams along the way.  Given these conditions, it strongly recommended to wear boots and gaiters, and to consider carrying a walking pole for additional support.
