Heading north, we loop around via High Hauxley to reach the A1068. We walk about 1km along this road before we turn east into the country park. We loop around the southern edge of the lake stopping at the visitor centre for a coffee stop. After coffee, we head to the coast and join the King Charles III England Coast Path and head north along the path or the beach, depending on the tide, back to the start.
If some people want a shorter walk (4.8 miles or 7.7km) then they can miss the loop around Druridge Bay Country park and take the road from the A1068 to Togston Links/Hadston Carrs to join the coastal path back to Low Hauxley.
This walk was wet and muddy in places on the pre-walk in mid March , so gaiters and a stick are advisable.
