This is a circular walk from Lower Heyford, taking in country paths and villages on both sides of the river. From Lower Heyford we skirt the former RAF base at Upper Heyford, then head to Somerton before crossing the water in the direction of Middle Aston. We pass through Steeple Aston and make our way back via Rousham.
Some of the paths were quite overgrown when I recceed, so please wear long trousers and boots.
Bring plenty to drink, snacks and lunch.
Dress appropriately for the weather;- there is not much shelter on the walk.
Dogs welcome if on leads at all times.
Meet in Market Square (outside The Bell pub) in Lower Heyford. Please park with consideration in the surrounding streets, as there is no car park in Lower Heyford. Do car share wherever possible.
