Overview

We begin at Matlock train station, walking through the park, before turning off towards Lumsdale Valley.

Lumsdale is of industrial archeological interest, having been the site of cotton spinning and bleaching mills. It is now looked after by the Arkwright Trust.

After walking through Lumsdale we head towards Cocking Tor, then on to Tansley, heading to Riber Castle, before a final descent back into Matlock
