We are the Scarborough and District Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This invigorating walk offers lovely scenic views along the coast and inland.
Weather and tides permitting, the walk will include not to be missed cliff top views out to sea, a steep descent onto the beach at Runswick Bay, followed by a challenging ascent. Strongly advise bringing two walking sticks.
Continue along the A174 coast road from Whitby to Sandsend. Drive up the steep hill (past an old church on the right) after another 200 yds or so, to reach a small car park on the left just off the High Street in Lythe village. When you see Walkers, open car boots, walking boots, sticks, and smiles, and see Rucksacks everywhere - you've reached the destination/starting point.
